We've been on a quest for years to find the perfect granola, but most of them have ridiculously long ingredient lists or are so full of rubbish that we just want to throw our hands up in defeat. But not any more thanks to Anastasia's Pantry!
They are a small, female-led business that makes our favorite granola ever. Their dreamy gingerbread galore granola has been our go-to all winter, and we’re thrilled to have them in the VCA family!
Anastasia's Pantry is committed to making delicious, healthy food without sacrificing flavour or quality. They are an incredible company that prioritises health above all else.
We were lucky enough to ask them a few questions about their products and what the future holds for them:
How did you come up with the idea for Anastasia's Pantry?
The message behind Anastasia's Pantry was inspired by my own struggles. I was overweight my whole life. I lost the motivation to exercise and make the much needed lifestyle change. Today I weigh 25 kilograms less, crave exercise and know how to live a balanced lifestyle.
However, I came to a disturbing realisation that I was being fooled by marketing labels such as 'low fat' or 'low sugar' which simply meant there was something else in there instead. Coupled with the fact that I enjoyed way one too many biscuits with my tea..
I prioritised using honest ingredients with no hidden nasties when personally developing the granola and protein ball recipes. Now, I am proud to call Anastasia's Pantry a company (and granola producer) that focuses on healthy food to fuel your body. Our nutty granolas are addictive in all the right ways and I assure you that you will feel relieved reading the nutritional label.
What makes your granola better than all the other granolas on the market?
Although there are many brands of granola that are vegan, gluten-free, and lower in sugar – Anastasia’s Pantry has more to offer. This female-led small business puts your health as our priority. As I mentioned in the last question, I know what it feels like to be majorly overweight, dealing with the consequences of poor food choices and feeling like there’s not a way out. Of course, not everyone who enjoys our granolas will be looking to lose weight but we make sure that no matter what position you are in we maintain your health. How do we do this? By using a few high-quality ingredients in our recipes. Each granola has less than 7 ingredients, a high percentage of nuts (15% on average as opposed to 5% in supermarkets) and is handmade by me every time! The best part is that the healthy aspect does not compromise the flavour of our granolas. We have some unique flavours that went through months of recipe testing such as Time for Cocoa & Coco that is a plant based chocolate granola with tahini, Magical Mediterranean Morning that has whole roasted pistachios and dried orange zest and more.
What is your favourite way to eat granola?
It actually depends on the flavour and time of year. You might notice we have recommendations on our pouches of how we like to eat that particular granola flavour. I personally love Time for Cocoa & Coco with yoghurt and fresh cherries to give forest gateau vibes.
If you could only eat one flavour of Anastasia’s Pantry granola for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?
Tough one. Probably the Crispy Winter’s Morning that has almonds raisins and cinnamon just because it was the original flavour, the first one I created and it pairs well with everything.
What's next for Anastasia's Pantry? Will there be any new flavours on the horizon?
Well, we are actually moving into new and bigger premises early next year. This will allow us to release more product ranges and flavours that we have had up our sleeve for a while now. A porridge range and new granola flavours are definitely on the horizon. Overall, Anastasia’s Pantry will continue to steadily grow in 2023.
